A decidedly more advanced set than the $1 Silver Certificate set without Stars, the with Star notes set contains 46 notes. Of these, almost all are obtainable even in Gem New grades, except for the 1928C*, 1928D*, and 1928E* series Star notes. The 1928C and 1928D series stars are scarce in circulated grades and rare in Uncirculated grades, while the 1928E* is a legendary rarity in top grades and is an expensive item even in lower circulated grades. A difficult set to undertake, yet among the most popular sets in all of U.S. currency collecting to assemble.
