This set comprises the entire $5 Legal Tender issue by series and variety — 35 notes in all. The non-stars for this set are easily obtainable in CU save for a few of the later 1928 mules, but when you throw in the stars, things get much tougher! Many stars of these varieties are very scarce to rare in high grade in comparison to their normal issue brethren. In some cases just finding a star can be a real challenge. Noted as classic $5 LT rarities are the 1928A and 1928D stars, the 1928B and 1928C mule stars, and the 1928F narrow and wide II stars. To this day, the 1928E mule star is known by only one recorded specimen.
