Newport Beach, CA - A new, free interactive service for bank note collectors is now online: the PCGS Currency Set Registry.
Similar to the tremendously successful rare coins registry, this new patent-pending program lets collectors compare their PCGS-certified bank note collections to others, and ranks them in order of grade point average, completion and overall rating.
"We've launched the eagerly-anticipated PCGS Currency Set Registry with four initial categories: Large Size Type Notes, Small Size Type Notes, Fractional Currency and Military Payment Certificates (MPCs). We also have a Collector's Showcase section, and we'll be adding exciting, additional categories in the near future," said Jason W. Bradford, President of PCGS Currency, a division of Collectors Universe, Inc. (NASDAQ: CLCT).
"The currency registry incorporates the recently introduced Version 2 program software that has been overwhelmingly well received by users of the coin registry. Users of the PCGS Currency Set Registry easily can track the cost and value of their bank notes, and also can post online multiple images of their notes," explained BJ Searls, PCGS Set Registry Manager.
More than 25,000 coin sets have been registered online by collectors and dealers since the PCGS coin registry was established in 2001.
"With the rapid growth of certified bank notes we anticipate the currency registry also will be extremely popular," said Bradford.
