PCGS Currency Adds New Set Registry Sets

Since the launch of the PCGS Currency Set Registry last May, interest in the Set Registry has been steadily growing with more than 400 Sets currently registered.  After receiving many requests for additional sets, PCGS Currency is pleased to announce the addition of new Large Size and Small Size sets in the Registry.

This month, PCGS Currency has added many Large Size Federal Reserve Note sets.  "Whether you collect by Friedberg number, Denomination, District, stars notes or not, we guarantee there will be a set ideal for your collection," said PCGS Currency Vice President Laura A. Kessler.  "Numerous Blue Seals have been added; expect Red Seals and FRBNs to follow soon."

"In addition to Large Size, we have added Small Size denomination sets by design type," continued Kessler.  "Throughout history, we have watched Small Size notes change in design.  We have witnessed major changes such as seal colors changing from gold, red, brown, blue and various shades of green, to minor changes like the R and S Experimental Notes.  We have created some fun sets by denomination to display this visual timeline of transformations in U.S. Small Size currency designs from the first Small Size notes to the modern colorized currency issued today."

"We invite you to participate in the challenging, yet rewarding, PCGS Currency Set Registry, and look forward to seeing your sets online," stated Jason W. Bradford, President of PCGS Currency.  "The Currency Set Registry is proving to be an exciting and competitive way for collectors to display and compare their collections, and allows for specialized collecting by Friedberg number or varieties, or for more general collecting by design type or denomination."

B.J. Searls, Manager of the PCGS Set Registry, encouraged collectors to participate by suggesting new ideas for possible sets.  "We are continuously adding competitive new sets, but we are always looking for new ideas that will encourage participation.  Suggestions are welcome and encouraged."
